P/VP Message 2023/2024
It is with great excitement that we continue our tenures as Principal and Vice-Principal of Annunciation of Our Lord CES for the 2023-2024 school year.
Gabriel's announcement to Mary signified birth, hope and salvation (The Annunciation). The birth of a new school community took place with the building of the new Annunciation of Our Lord Catholic Elementary School. On September 7th, 2010, two school communities, St. Catherine of Siena and St. Jerome Schools, blended together to form one school community. Staff and students began their journey in the brand-new school on February 28, 2012.
On behalf of the tremendous staff at AOOL, we look forward to working with the students, parents, families, parish and partners in building upon the school’s great successes from last year. This will include prioritizing health and safety for all members of our school community.
Working from a theory that is grounded in the belief that all students are curious, competent and capable of tremendous accomplishment given the appropriate levels of support and encouragement, our school remains committed to the concept of achieving excellence for all.
It is our hope that a culture of collaboration will continue to flourish so that all our efforts are rooted in a coordinated approach and shared vision such that the uniqueness of each student is celebrated and learning opportunities are tailored to meet diverse needs.
The prophet Micah calls Christ’s children to act justly, love tenderly and walk humbly with God. It is in this spirit that the staff will accompany all students to realize the fullness of humanity of which our Lord Jesus Chris is the model. Anchored in partnership, AOOL is a school dedicated to nurturing the spiritual, social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of all students. Empathy, kindness, self-regulation and well-being lead the way.
On behalf of the entire staff, a warm ‘welcome back’ is extended to students returning from summer vacation and to those newly registered. 2023-2024 promises to be filled with inquiry, exploration, opportunity and discovery where learning is forged in a perpetual state of ‘wonder’ and each new day is encountered in an atmosphere of ‘inquisitive joy’. Together, we are strong; in faith, we are stronger.
